"Stayed here the first week of August in the Ponderosa Cabin. Cabin had a full kitchen, a bedroom (queen bed), a loft area with room for 4 people (1 queen, 2 single beds) and 1.5 bathrooms. Towels were provided. Kitchen was well equipped. Cabin was clean and spacious. The proximity to Mariposa Grove and Yosemite's south entrance, as well as having a full kitchen make staying here a winner. We couldn't find a hotel room for this price, let alone the savings we had by making our own meals! Hosts left us maps with hiking suggestions. There is also parking for two cars and a nice deck off the back of the cabin. Full grocery store in Oakhurst (get groceries on your way to Fish Camp). Fish Camp has a small convenience store for immediate needs, within walking distance of cabin. Cabin has satellite tv, but we never even turned it on."
We've stayed at the Owl's Nest guest house with friends and had a wonderful visit. We recommend it for a home style vacation. The owners are friendly and it is closest to the Yosemite Park entrance."
"Excellent choice for families – We were incredibly pleased to find the Owl's Nest lodging. We found them through a google search and booked a room for a week. Wonderful in every aspect - not only the proximity to Yosemite, but also the roominess of the cabin itself."
"Just completed a five day stay at Owls Nest's Ponderosa cabin. Great place. First time in Yosemite. The owners, Barbara and Robert, were very helpful suggesting hikes and places to see in the park. The cabin was in perfect condition, very well built. There were just two of us, however, Ponderosa has two floors and can easily accommodate six or seven. Nice big kitchen and two bathrooms. We did a walk-thru of Tamarack. Looked fine for two people. Owl's Nest is about a mile or so from the Park's South entrance. The Mariposa Sequoia Grove is a couple of miles away. Great in late afternoon to walk thru the grove. My wife and I highly recommend Owls Nest."
"We spent 3 days at the Ponderosa Cabin in late April and had a really wonderful time. There were 5 adults, and the cabin turned out to be perfect. It was very clean and pretty, had plenty of room so none of us got in each other’s way, was well stocked with everything we needed, and was wonderfully close to the entrance to the park. Although we didn’t meet Barbara, we did meet Robert who was very nice and accommodating. We had a few questions that he was able to answer, and a burned out light bulb that he replaced the next morning. Thanks to you Barbara, for making all the arrangements ahead of our stay and for giving us some pertinent information about Yosemite. We will certainly stay at the Owl’s Nest for our next visit."
