There are many attractions along this most popular year-round entrance into Yosemite National Park (Highway 41). In particular, Fish Camp makes a great base from which to enjoy and explore, inside and outside the park! If you like hands-on information about hikes and special places to see, then Owl’s Nest Lodging is the place to be!!
Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad:
Ride the historic Logger Steam Train, the Jenny Railcars, or schedule a fun filled evening on the famous and memorable Moonlight Special.

The Mariposa Sequoia Grove is just 4 miles north of Owl’s Nest Lodging. You may drive to the Grove parking lot or take a free shuttle from the South Gate or from the Wawona Market. There are many nature trails in this extraordinary Grove; you may even wish to take the BIG TREES TOUR: a one hour open-air auto tram tour with interpretive guide. These tours depart about every half hour in high season. Tickets can be purchased at the Grove ticket office.
Yosemite Trails Pack Station:
Our local horse back stable offers a variety of trail rides, wagon rides, back country rides; even a memorable half day ride up into Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Check out their Chuck-Wagon Jamboree, a great BBQ and buffet. You will like this one!
